Understand how those never involved with the Navy as support, transportation or training can feel very “left out.” Us old guys served as a part of the Navy Department (the BEST part) but never felt disrespected.

All Marine pilots of every type have received the best training in the world of aviation, courtesy of USN. Forward Air Control and much other training is also Navy.

Other than joking, it has never occurred to me that one was a lot better than the other for the particular job they were assigned.

I am proud to have chosen and been selected for commissioning in the Corps, but had that not happened I would be equally as proud to have served in the Navy.
